Safe Driving Tips

Driving is often related to risk. But the part of this risk depends on our ability of attentiveness, organization and precaution. More we take into consideration single detail more we decrease the rate of risk. Here are a few advices that might be quite useful for every present and future driver. They might be taken into account as before sitting into the car as while driving.

  • Before taking place in your comfortable car seat make a preliminary revision. Turn on the lights and walk around the car to make sure that all of them work properly; check your blinkers and tires and look under the car to check that the fluid does not leak and nothing hangs suspiciously; Adjust inner and outer mirrors in your car so as to reduce all possible blind spots to the minimum;
  • Always wear your seat-belt and keep in mind not to let more people into your car than the seat-belts are available and don't let children on the front seat as opened airbags can cause serious injuries and even death;
  • Try to leave 10-15 minutes earlier. Remember that high speed does not guarantee taking you to the place of destination in time but increases the rate of risk several times;
  • Take care about stocking up such necessary emergency items like flares, flashlights, blankets, first aid kits,  all necessary contact numbers including emergency and medical contacts;
  • Don't listen to music too loud while driving as you may miss some important sound signal; At the same time keep your eye at every visual sign on the road; Additionally do not talk on cell as it significantly distracts your attention from the road;
  • Everyone knows that it's forbidden  to drive in drunk condition but if you nonetheless have decided to drink take care preliminarily to keep a sober driver by your side; Here should be noted that 24 hours of being awake equals to drunk condition and caffeine is not the best way to overcome it;
  • Try not to smoke while driving at night. The fact is that nicotine and carbon monoxide obstruct night vision;
  • When being in the row of other vehicles, leave at least 4 seconds space in front of you in order to avoid hitting. When driving at night or in bad weather, this space should be doubled;
  • In bad weather drive as slow as possible, but if roads are icy it’s better for you not to drive at all. And according old saying: “Life is fragile; don’t break it”.

Take care of yourselves and your cars and as French would say:  Bon voyage!
